Structural Wood Components donated a decorative cedar entrance structure, custom-fabricated joinery hardware and installation assistance for the home of soldier Patrick Zeigler, a returning Iraq war veteran and survivor of the Fort Hood, Texas Army Base shootings.

The decorative timber components were part of a home built and presented on ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition that aired Sunday, February 20, 2011. SWC worked on the project with well-known builder Tilson Homes, who contracted us because of our reputation for supplying the quality timber products the show required. The beautiful home was presented by host Ty Pennington and the rest of the celebrity design team to Patrick Zeigler and his fiance, Jessica Hansen, who were married on the day of the handover.

It was an honor for SWC to supply the timberwork, and for its employees to participate in the homebuilding effort to help out a veteran and courageous victim of the Forth Hood shootings.
